More info: | The easiest way to get listen to all the early songs - Radio Hits collects all the tracks from the
Formula One Racing Girls,
Joey Ramoney and
Punk Boy singles plus the
Summer Pop Punk Pop EP all on one shiny beer-mat or wonderful spangly glitter vinyl -
ideal for Kenickie fans. If any are old enough to own record players. The band's third single - the split 7" with
Wat Tyler (which didn't have a number in the usual way) - doesn't appear on here for the simple reason that Helen
(and presumably the rest of the band) doesn't like it. Includes a message from the one and only Mr J. Ramone plus... |
Well here we are again in crunchy autumn, those long summer days are just a distant memory now. I'm sitting here on my window ledge, looking out into a clear night sky, wishing on the stars and trying to write something to fill up these stupid CD pages. RECORDS ARE STILL THE BEST!
Formula One Racing Girls is over a year old now, at the time we didn't plan on anymore, now here we are doing this compilation thing. Writing songs is still fun, lots of old keyboards with the notes stuck on, hand-painted Kay guitars and little 8-track tape recorder that's all you need!
highlight of the year? - my first barchord. | TWANG |

highlight of the year? - Veronica from the Ramones fanclub telling us Joey really likes our records, GABBA GABBA HEY!
highlight of the year? - hearing Punk Boy on the radio. We didn't want to put it out, we were so worried about it we offered to buy all the records off Mr Damaged so we could keep them under the bed. We thought everyone would hate it, lots of panic attacks. We like it now though PHEW
highlight of the year? - Sheena's boyfriend telling us we're crap then he heard us on the radio and said we were great, he's an ex boyfriend now - with a limp - one nil to the girls.
highlight of the year? - No 4 in the indie charts, next stop Top Of The Pops, barcodes + T-shirts!
Well I think I've managed to fill 2 pages, thanks to everyone who's written to us, bought our records + played us on the radio. A big thanks to Veronica Kofman in Brighton and very special thanks to Joey Ramone for his sleevenotes on the back of this CD. Het ho let's go. See you soon.
